What do I do after my treatment?

  • Adhering to the proper post-treatment regimen is essential for optimal results and faster healing.

  • Keeping the treated area clean and hygienic is paramount. This includes washing it twice daily with Nue Antibacterial soap (or an unscented antibacterial soap of your choice). After washing, apply a generous amount of the Nue healing cream or oil on the affected area using your clean hands. If you choose to not use the Nue Aftercare set, your healing ointment options are Rejuvaskin (from Amazon), Cicaplast (from Amazon), or Aquaphor. Do not use anything containing Vitamin D (ointments or pills).

  • To help with swelling, use cold packs a few minutes on followed by a few minutes off (for the first night only). Do not apply cold pack directly to the skin; keep a layer of clean clothing or a clean towel between your skin and the cold pack.

  • It is important to avoid sun exposure for at least 30-40 days after the treatment to give the skin time to heal properly.  Do not use sunscreen, sunblock, self-tanning of any kind, or any substance that contains Vitamin D. Once the treated area has fully healed, it is safe to enjoy the sun again.

  • Sauna and excessive sweating should also be avoided for a week after the treatment in order to prevent infection.

  • No working out or sweating for 5-7 days. You really want to avoid sweating.

  • Smoking can lead to infection and delayed healing, so it should be avoided. Also limit alcohol consumption as it slows healing.

  • To promote faster healing, it is recommended that you abstain from consuming sweet foods and drinks, as they can increase the sugar levels in your body. The higher your sugar level, the longer it will take for you to heal.

  • Eating vegetables, supplements, and a collagen drink/supplements can aid in the healing process.

  • Drink plenty of water and eat plenty of protein. Staying hydrated and consuming protein will help promote faster healing and better results.

  • No sleeping directly on the treated area until swelling subsides.

  • Do not shower with hot water as it may cause irritation for the first few days.
  • No saltwater, exfoliation, pools, laser hair removal, or waxing on treated areas for at least 14 days.
  • Do not scrub, rub, or pick at the epithelial crust that forms. Allow it to flake off by itself. If it is removed before it's ready, the pigment underneath can be pulled out and optimal healing can be compromised. Crusing is normal and expected; do not peel.
  • The healing process may take anywhere from 4-6 weeks for most people, which is longer than when tattooing healthy parts of the skin due to it being more sensitive when working with scar tissue. Please also keep in mind the further away from your heart, the longer the area will take to heal. Stretch marks will be dark during healing. This is expected. Please do not panic. Full healing takes 4-6 weeks. Patience and relaxation are key while waiting for complete healing.

  • If there is any allergic reaction, please call your physician.

Please call or text with any questions or concerns. Please send weekly photo updates via text or email.

What can I expect after a treatment?

After undergoing treatment with Nue SR, Nue SS, or Nue Conceal, the healing process can be lengthy as we are working on damaged skin. It usually takes anywhere between 4 to 6 weeks (with the remote possibility of up to 3 months) for a scar tissue to heal fully, although this will depend on several factors such as age, lifestyle, habits, and the location and severity of the scar or stretch marks in question. Immediately after the treatment session is concluded, you may notice that the treated area becomes swollen and red. The next day, the swelling will subside but the area will remain red. After 72 hours, the redness will turn into brown pigmentation. This hyperpigmentation may last anywhere from 7 to 45 days. As long as the treated area is still darker than the skin, it is not yet fully healed. The speed of healing time will be faster if the treated area is closer to the heart as opposed to further away from it. Other factors like smoking and diet can also influence how quickly one's skin heals after undergoing scar treatment procedures. Those who want faster recovery times are advised not to smoke and limit their consumption of sweets as higher sugar levels in their bodies can potentially slow down the healing period. It is also advisable to drink plenty of water and consume ample protein, as a good hydration status and protein consumption will expedite healing. Achieving the best possible outcome may require 2 to 4 sessions, depending on your skin type.

After I'm fully healed, what happens to my scar/stretch mark camouflage when I tan?

When it comes to exposing untreated stretch marks and scars to the sun, tanning without camouflage can increase their visibility. The ultraviolet rays of the sun will not cause the tones of those areas to change, resulting in them becoming more noticeable. When we camouflage them with pigment, the base color of these spots is blended into the same hue as untanned, healthy skin. In this way, though they don't tan during exposure to sunlight, they will appear less visible than before they were treated. When the person loses his/her tan, these camouflaged areas will remain unchanged since they were never affected by sunlight, thus providing a consistent combination with their surroundings. Given that many people choose to include tanning on their beauty routine, it is important to consider that not all skin types react the same way under UV rays. In order to reduce visibility of stretch marks and scars while enjoying a golden complexion at the same time, camouflage tattoos can be an excellent option as they provide a natural-looking solution that complements your look. They ensure even skin tone throughout your body. Comparatively, when we treat stretch marks not with camouflage but with advanced inkless revision, the stretch marks are essentially healed and disappear, so the skin will tan naturally and consistently throughout.

What's the difference between Brazilian camouflage and Nue Conceal camouflage?

Brazilian camouflage and Nue Conceal are both forms of skin discoloration cover up. Brazilian camouflage utilizes tattoo ink to help conceal any unwanted skin discoloration, whereas Nue Conceal uses pigments specially formulated for skin tone tattooing that are made up of mineral ingredients similar to those used with semi-permanent makeup. These pigments provide a more natural effect on the skin compared to traditional tattooing methods associated with Brazilian camouflage technique. Another major difference between Brazilian camouflage and Nue Conceal is the method used in color matching. While Brazilian camouflage relies on manual color matching, Nue Conceal utilizes a revolutionary skin color matching technology - the first of its kind. It's a skin tone matching reader and associated app. This technology helps simplify the task of matching colors as accurately as possible, taking out the risk of human error. By using this device, I can get an exact match for your skin tone in three easy steps. First, I scan your skin which reveals your exact complexion shade. Then the reader provides me with options for depth or lightness depending on what type of coverage you need. Lastly, the color recommendation blends together multiple pigments into one solution to give me the perfect customized color tones that work best for you. This gives you complete coverage and ensures that no one will ever know where your discolored areas were! Nue Conceal stands out among other types of camouflage because it works towards providing better protection and coverage while also delivering an incredibly natural looking finish that can last up to five years depending on individual lifestyle and DNA. It is specifically designed to be gentle against all types of skin and boasts the highest national and international certifications to ensure safety of use!

What's the difference between Nue Conceal scar camouflage and advanced ISR treatment?

Camouflage tattoos and inkless stretch mark revision are both types of non-invasive body modifications that involve changes to the appearance of one's skin. However, there are many key differences between the two procedures. A camouflage tattoo is a form of semi-permanent body art in which an artist tattoos ink beneath the top layer of the skin into the dermis to hide and conceal the scars or stretch marks. The ink may remain in the skin for a long period of time with proper care and maintenance, making it an ideal solution for those who have a big contrast between the color of their scars/stretch marks and the surrounding skin.

Inkless stretch mark revision involves the use of a tattoo machine to reduce or eliminate the appearance of stretch marks on the skin, but instead of using colored pigment/ink to cover them up, the artist uses a medical-grade healing serum full of vitamins, minerals, collagen, and peptides to tattoo into the top layer of the dermis. This procedure does not leave any sort of permanent mark behind; instead, it works by stimulating collagen, elastin, and fibroblast production underneath the surface of the skin, causing the stretch mark to heal itself from the inside out. ISR is also best in improving the texture and the tone of the marks making it the ideal first option for stretch marks and scars before camouflage tattoo.

Overall, while both procedures involve making changes to one's skin, they are quite different in terms of how they work and what they achieve. A camouflage tattoo is best used when someone wants a cover up and when there is a prominent skin tone contrast, while stretch mark revision is best for those looking for a more natural way of treating stretch marks.

What is Nue SR and how does it differ from ISR from other companies?

Nue SR is an ISR treatment but the serum we use is vastly different from other ISR practitioners. Most ISR practitioners formulate their own serum using over-the-counter products. Nue SR serum uses medical-grade ingredients, is lab-formulated, and is specially developed for ISR technique The difference between over-the-counter skin care products and medical-grade skin care can truly be night and day. Over-the-counter skin care is typically mass produced, with much higher quantities of product being dispensed than with medical-grade products. Furthermore, the ingredients within these over-the-counter skin care products often lack potency and have lower concentrations of active ingredients. They are also largely unregulated, meaning that companies are not held to any particular standard when it comes to their production. Moreover, over-the-counter serums are made only for topical use, they are not intended to penetrate an open wound which is the case in an ISR technique. This makes the treated area more prone to negative skin reactions and leads to less efficacy of the serum. In comparison, medical-grade products must adhere to strict regulations established by various governing bodies. They are held to higher standards of purity and efficiency. Our medical-grade Nue SR serum formula is more complex and contains higher concentrations of active ingredients for better absorption or improved efficacy. The fact that it is lab-formulated by experts also makes Nue SR serum a safer option as it is formulated specifically to penetrate an open skin area caused by the needling technique associated with ISR. Using a medical-grade ingredient also lessens the healing period of the treated area.
